Milan Fashion Week is held twice a year: the spring/summer fashion week is held in September/October each year, while the fall/winter fashion week is held in February/March each year.
The collections shown during the fashion shows relate to subsequent seasons and are organized well in advance to allow for the production of the items presented and their acquisition by the stores.
THE PARADES
Events dedicated to women's fashion are the highlight of fashion week and in particular “Womenswear”, “Milan SS Women Ready to Wear” and “Milano Moda Donna” are the most important fashion shows. The events dedicated to men's fashion are “Menswear” and “Milano Moda Uomo”.
Milan Fashion Week is organized by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, a non-profit organization that regulates, coordinates, and promotes the development of Italian fashion and is responsible for organizing fashion-related events in Milan.
Milan Women's Fashion Week is the most prestigious event organized by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, with two events per year and a network of thousands of industry professionals working to ensure the smooth running of this major event. The women's fashion shows are the most anticipated event in the international fashion industry. The National Chamber of Italian Fashion manages and coordinates all related events, facilitating the work of showrooms, buying offices, press offices, and public relations firms. Milan is the prestigious location hosting more than 170 fashion shows and presentations, promoting the houses that have made Made in Italy famous worldwide and supporting the new talents that make the fashion world an ever-evolving field. In this fascinating and highly creative landscape, the National Chamber of Italian Fashion performs essential functions such as developing the fashion show and presentation calendar, liaising with institutions, developing the image and scenography of the new fashion hub, managing the press office, and designing special events. Milano Moda Donna, with its two annual editions: September-October (spring/summer collections) and February-March (fall/winter collections), represents the most important meeting point between ready-to-wear and industry professionals and offers Milan a refined example of the perfect combination of creativity and organization.
